Our History

Mother Paul Offiah Memorial Girls' Secondary School, Azia formerly known as "MERCY GIRLS' SECONDARY SCHOOL" was founded on 8th September, 2003. The foundation of this school was possible through the inspiration and help of Late Rev. Mother Mary Paul Offiahh (DMMM), the then Superior General of the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Mercy Congregation, together with the unrelented effort of Rev. Srs. Innocentina Marie Obi, Angeli-Frances Okoye and Chibuokem Ezeonu. These sisters gathered the children for entrance examination and convinced them to come along with them. The school is under the management of the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy Sisters (DMMM). Thirteen students were present on the resumption day (8th September, 2003).

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer qualitative education in wide range of subject at junior and senior levels of education in order to achieve the following:- 1. To foster the harmonious development of the physical, moral, social, intellectual and spiritual endowment of young girls. 2. To provide a catholic education noted for it's quality to young girls irrespective of their background and denominations. 3. To help curb the moral decadence prevalent in our society and school by giving moral balance to young girls.
